More than two weeks after Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital, AIADMK IT wing has started a new online campaign. Using the hashags #MyCMisFine and #NoMoreRumours on social media, the party is attempting to dispel the paranoia around her health.
Meanwhile, expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa has written to the governor asking him to verify Jayalalithaa’s signature on government documents.
The IT Wing tweeted, “All is well with Puratchi Thalaivi Amma, click this link, change your profile and put a full stop to rumours.”
The IT wing has asked supporters to put up a picture of Jayalalithaa with “MyCMisFine” and “NoMoreRumours” written on it as the display picture.
In her letter, the expelled AIADMK MP asked him to verify if Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s signature is genuine in any communication which comes from her office.
She wrote in the letter, “It is feared that some people around Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, now hospitalized, may forge her signature to nominate a deputy general secretary to AIADMK and the government also.”
The AIADMK MP has been at odds with the party leadership, accusing them of forcing her to resign and treat her badly.
On October 8, 2016, Sasikala, her husband N Lingeswara Thilagan and her son L Pradeep Raja were interrogated by the Madurai police for submitting forged documents at the Madras High Court while asking for anticipatory bail in a case.
The court had dismissed the bail plea and asked probe into her forged documents.
Earlier, their domestic help had filed a complained at Thoothukudi police station for allegedly torturing and sexually abusing her.
