An innovative Indian startup has launched the country’s first indigenously built all-electric motorcycle, the Tork T6X. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 1,24,999.

Bookings for the motorcycle have begun, but the model is subject to limited availability in the first phase, in Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi. Tork Motors, the Pune-based electric mobility firm, is aiming to sell 5,000-10,000 units each month.

The Tork T6X delivers 100 km per full charge, claims the startup. Its top speed is pegged at 100 kmph.

It has a water and dust resistant lithium-ion battery. Charging the battery can be done via a standard 15A power source. While it takes one hour to charge 80% of the battery, 100% charge is achieved within two hours. The battery is expected to last around 80,000 to 1,00,000 km.

Charging stations are vital for the manufacture of electric vehicles. Hence, Tork has set up six charging stations for now in Pune and Lonavala and it is aiming at 100 of these in Pune, Delhi and Bangalore.

The bike features a fully digital infotainment display, GPS Navigation, geo-fencing and anti-theft system. It has disc brakes on the front and rear wheels and ABS.

Tork has also given the T6X, a TIROS intelligence system driving mode selector, which will also help you download updates directly and automatically from the cloud online. The motorcycle weighs 130 kg and has a torque of 27 Nm.

The Tork has established its own manufacturing plant at Chakan, near Pune. Ola cabs founder Bhavish Aggarwal and co-founder Ankit Bhati have invested an undisclosed amount in the startup.
