A 26-year-old post-graduate student went missing on Sunday and left behind letters for her friend and father saying that she is going to the Himalayas to lead a spiritual life.

P Prathyusha was pursuing MS in Engineering Designs from IIT. She hails from Brodipet in Guntur district of Andhra. She was staying in IIT hostel on the campus. According to the institute, she left the hostel on Sunday morning. The institute lodged a police complaint on Monday after her parent's insisted, according to TNIE.

An FIR was registered at the Kotturpuram police station and they found two letters in her room. A police officer told TNIE, “One was addressed to her father and another to her close friend. She had mentioned her fondness for International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and her wish to explore more about her spiritual learning.”

Police officer added that she often used to visit the ISKCON temple on ECR. Also, In the permission letter, she had filed that she will return by January 20.
