The political turmoil inside the Telangana TDP seems to be heating up. At the party Politburo meeting held on Friday, there were alleged heated exchanges between Revanth Reddy and other senior leaders over his Delhi tour with the former saying, "I will give an explanation only to Chandrababu Naidu".

Revanth Reddy had recently visited Delhi where he reportedly met Congress big shots, to shore up his plans of joining the party.

According to sources, when asked to come clear, the state Working President of the TDP shot back at the leaders saying that he was answerable only to party leader Naidu and no one should expect an answer from him.

Speaking to the media, senior TDP leader Mothkupalli Narsimhulu said, "We are unhappy with the sort of response we have got from him, how can he meet another party’s leaders without informing. He has also criticised his own party leaders.”

Mothkupalli added that he is indulging in politics which tantamounts to breaking of trust and said that even if he leaves the party, it will not have a drastic effect on the party and the party will continue to grow.

However, a top source from the party said that the Politburo meeting was held successfully and the upcoming winter session of the Assembly was discussed.

Meanwhile, a senior leader from the Revanth faction told TNM that around 70-80% leaders and their cadre were behind Revanth Reddy and they will make their next move based on his decision.

Reports emerging from Telugu media suggest that a few TDP Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency members (ZPTCs) from Kodangal assembly constituency which Revanth represents, were switched to the ruling TRS party on Friday.

Earlier, several reports suggested that his recent Delhi tour was to hold a final round of talks with the Congress leadership about joining the party as early as November 2017.

Despite repeated denials from Revanth Reddy, there is a strong buzz that leaders from the Reddy community were coming together against K Chandrasekhar Rao, and joining the Congress was an option that many were mulling.

The 47-year-old leader, who is also the floor leader of the TDP in the State Assembly, has always been at the forefront fiercely attacking policies of the KCR government.

While Telangana Congress state-in-charge RC Khuntia did not give a direct response to the speculations, he did say that many leaders from different parties, including the TDP, BJP, and YSRCP, are in touch with the Congress.

Meanwhile, several senior Congress party leaders have welcomed Revanth's decision to switch over.
