India will be co-hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad with US from November 28-30, 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Twitter on Thursday.
“The Summit is a unique opportunity for bringing together entrepreneurs and startups with global leaders,” PM Modi tweeted.
US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump will lead the US delegation to India supporting women’s entrepreneurship globally.
The GES centres promote economic growth, inclusion and opportunities among entrepreneurs from across the world, with a special focus on emerging nations from Africa and Asia.
“Honored to lead the US delegation to #GES2017 in India & meet with Prime Minister Modi & passionate entrepreneurs from around the globe!” Ivanka Trump tweeted.
In response to PM Modi and Ivanka Trump’s tweets, KT Rama Rao, IT minister of Telangana said, “Hon'ble PM Sir, Many thanks for the opportunity given to Hyderabad. We will make sure the event showcases India's potential to the world. World's largest & oldest democracies coming together to spur innovation & entrepreneurship, is bound to create new avenues for future.”
He added that Hyderabad and Telangana looks forward to welcoming and hosting Ivanka Trump and her delegation along with delegations from other important nations.
This year, the eight chapter of GES in India will be organised by NITI Aayog in coordination with Ministry of External Affairs.
Last year it was hosted in Silicon Valley and previously was hosted by the governments of Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Morocco, and Kenya.
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit is a platform which connects global entrepreneurs with the access and exchange needed to create and innovate.
The idea is to showcase entrepreneurs and investors from around the world creating new opportunities for investment, partnership, and collaboration.
The summit last year saw a wide range of workshops, panels, ignite talks, pitch competitions, mentoring, and networking sessions, which gave participants opportunities to gain skill and relationships to help their ventures grow.
