A TRS corporator from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) came under fire on Saturday, after an obscene picture was posted from his number, on a WhatsApp group of the city's corporators.

TRS coporator Kilari Manhoar from Vengal Rao Nagar posted the pictures on a group titled 'Hyd TRS corporators' on Saturday afternoon.

The picture shocked women corporators in the group, who decided to either file a police complaint or approach senior leaders in the party.

“Many people were surprised with the post. My colleagues called up Manohar and informed him, he did not know about it,” a woman corporator told DC.

However, he immediately denied posting the picture, and pointed fingers at his driver.

In a message that he sent immediately, he said, "Very sorry. My driver posted the picture. I had dismissed him from duty, and he did it intentionally as an act of revenge. I am extremely sorry for this."

He also said that the driver had posted such obscene content in several WhatsApp groups that he was a part of.

This is not the first time that GHMC has had a brush with 'porn'.

In April last year, the municipal body's website saw a sudden rise in their visitor count, after a topless photograph of Bollywood actor Sunny Leone found its way online.

The photograph reportedly captioned ‘having fun in the shower’, appeared in a section that monitored the movement of trash pick-up vans in the city.

The GHMC officials swiftly pulled down the picture after they started receiving calls from residents of the city, and later claimed that the website had been hacked.

However, they did not pursue the issue, and closed the matter after an internal inquiry.
