The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Hyderabad drug racket and its links with the Telugu film industry, will question popular Tollywood actor Mumait Khan on July 27.

The SIT has summoned 12 personalities from the Telugu film industry for questioning in connection with the sensational racket busted earlier this month.

According to reports, officials could not find Mumait's address to serve her the notice, and contacted the organisers of the Bigg Boss Telugu, where she is currently a participant.

Confirming the development, Director of Enforcement, Akun Sabharwal said that she will have to appear for questioning like the others, on July 27, in Hyderabad.

The Times of India reported that she would have to leave the Bigg Boss house in Lonavala and rush to Hyderabad,  but it may not adversely affect her chances of continuing in the show, as she may be able to stage a comeback.

Meanwhile, actor Subba Raju was grilled by the SIT on Friday, for over 11 hours.

On Thursday, the SIT questioned cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, a day after grilling director Puri Jagannadh for over 10 hours for his alleged links with the accused.

"We think that most of the 12 people connected with the film industry who were issued notices have been speaking to each other. On Thursday, we were prepared to break the ‘I do not know’ shield that Naidu put up and which was followed by Subba Raju too, till about 5 pm, when he opened up,” an investigator told The Hindu.

Puri was the first to appear before the SIT, which questioned him about his alleged links with Calvin Mascrenhas, the kingpin of the racket.

One of the officials, who grilled him, said he provided some clues.

The SIT also collected blood, hair and nail samples from the director to find out if he was using drugs.

Actors Ravi Teja, Navdeep, Tarun and Nandu, actress Mumait Khan and art director Chinna are among the other celebrities who will be questioned by the SIT.

It is film star Tarun Kumar's turn on Saturday, the SIT said.

The racket caused a sensation as authorities found that about 1,000 students of leading private schools and colleges in the city were using high-end drugs such as LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) and MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine).

The SIT has so far arrested 13 persons, including US citizen Dundu Anish -- an aerospace engineer who had earlier worked with the NASA, and seven B.Tech graduates, most of whom were working for multi-national companies.
