Kannada actor Shruti Hariharan is playing the female lead in the bilingual Solo, which is being directed by Bejoy Nambiar. On working with the acclaimed director who will be making his directorial debut in Tamil and Malayalam with this film, Shruti has said that he comes from a different school of thought and that is evident from the strong and bold female characters that he had etched out in Solo. She also went on to add that the director knows his craft well which makes it a pleasure to work with him. Revealing that Solo is an experimental film, she pointed out that it will be an interesting watch for the film buffs.

Shruti Hariharan, though predominantly a Kannada actor, had made her debut in the Tamil film industry with Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, which was directed by Lakshmi Ramakrishnan. Shruti’s first film was A Booty Artwork, an English film, following which she went on to act in the Malayalam film Cinema Company. She currently has the bilingual Solo, made in Tamil and Malayalam and two Kannada films The Villain and Tarak.

Solo is an anthology of four stories which has Dulquer Salmaan playing four different characters representing the four elements Earth (Rudhra), Fire (Siva), Water (Shekhar) and Wind (Trilok). Solo has four female leads in the cast and they are Neha Sharma, Sai Dhanshika, Sruthi Hariharan and Arthi Venkatesh. The film boasts of a big star cast with Manoj K Jayan, Shoubin Shahir, Dino Morea, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Nasser, Parthipan and John Vijay playing pivotal roles amongst others, Cinematography has been handled by Girish Gangadharan, Madhu Neelakandan and Sejal Shah, with A Sreekar Prasad editing it.

The shooting of Solo is almost done and the release date is expected to be  announced officially soon.
