Another student suicide in AP: Guntur 16-yr-old kills himself fearing punishment

The school management has reportedly offered compensation to the bereaved family.

Fearing punishment, a 16-year-old allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of the train. The incident came to light on Tuesday.

The victim, SK Muzawar Aqeeb Javed, a class X student, studying in Narayana Talent School, Vinukonda, Guntur, reportedly had a minor scuffle with co-student in the class on Monday.

Following this, the teacher had complained against Javed to the Headmaster, who later summoned Javed’s father Mohammed Sharif, reported Deccan Chronicle.

However, after the school, Javed didn’t return home. Although his parents searched the entire night, they couldn’t find him.

The next morning, the boy was found dead on a railway track at Enugupalem railway gate.

Outraged with the death of the boy, parents and relatives protested near the school. They alleged that the school management was responsible for the death of Javed. They said that the school has created fear amongst the students, which compelled Javed to commit suicide. Fearing violence, the management fled the school after locking its premises, reported DC.

The school management also reportedly offered compensation to the bereaved family.

However, dismissing the reports of suicide, Government Railway Police Sub Inspector D Venkateshwara Rao said that the boy died accidentally and fell under the train when he went to attend nature’s call.

After autopsy at the Vinukonda government hospital, the body was handed over to their parents, said reports.

Meanwhile, according to estimates as many as 50 students - both school and Junior college, committed suicide in the past few months in AP owing to depression, parental pressure and academic pressure.
