As assembly elections are just around the corner in Kerala, the BJP seems to be used as a weapon for LDF and UDF to attack each other.

According to reports, CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has alleged that the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), in the constituency of Kozhikode south, conducted discussions with the NDA on possible vote sharing by the two parties.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, at a meet-the-press event in Malappuram said that there is nothing wrong in forming an alliance with CPI(M) to counter the BJP in the state. However, he quickly added that such a political situation does not exist currently.

Meanwhile, claiming that the BJP will manage to open account in Kerala, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley criticized IUML, labeling the party as communal. He also took a dig at the left, and dismissed CPI(M)’s ideologies as being outdated.
