Actor Siddharth and RJ Balaji from Big FM 92.7 are driving around rain-hit Chennai picking up and dropping essentials on Wednesday.

The duo have been extensively using Twitter to spread information about stranded people and are driving around the city helping stranded locals and providing food packets to the needy.

"We have around 2,000 odd food packets as of now and we are segregating them as we get them. One problem is that the food needs to be packed and we can't take it in utensils. We have three cars as of now and we have four on stand-by in case the rain speeds up again," Siddharth told The News Minute.

This come a day after the actor posted images of his waterlogged house on Twitter and sought relief for the rest of Tamil Nadu. “Bathrooms submerged. Water coming out of the drains. I am an affluent actor. This is my house. Imagine rest of TN,” he tweeted.

The duo are also looking for volunteers who can help in transporting people out of danger among other things and have started the hashtag #ChennaiMicro to make it easier for their team to respond.

"We also need volunteers who can collect these food packets and distribute them to different parts of the city," RJ Balaji added.
