Actor Arun Vijay, son of veteran actor Vijaykumar, faced charges after reportedly ramming his car into a police tempo post midnight at Nungambakkam.
Around 3 am on Saturday morning, Vijay was reportedly driving his BMW sedan and accidentally rammed his car into the police vehicle parked at the entrance of the Nungambakkam police station.
Vijay and his wife were returning home after attending the sangeet function of Rayane, actress Radhikaa Sarathkumar’s daughter at a popular star hotel at Nungambakkam in Chennai.
Policemen at the spot apparently found him to be under the influence of alcohol and Pondy Bazaar traffic wing personnel registered a case. He was charged under sections 185 and 279 of the Motor Vehicles Act and of the IPC respectively and was later let off on bail.
Arun Vijay last year made a strong comeback in Ajith-starrer 'Yennai Arindhaal', directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. He is currently awaiting the release of 'Vaa Deal' and 'Kuttram 23'.
